M SAYS … My local food bank saved my life. I had lost  weight was totally socially ostraciszed and was at a dangerously low mental ebb. The Foodbank volunteers sat me down talked to me like a human being when the only other interactions I’d had were my Doctors and the DWP telling me that they couldn’t do anything, they gave me a cup of tea and, of course, a box of food but that was secondary to the humanising effect that real care gave to me… I’ve had to go back a few times and the people there are always lovely and really helpful whilst showing honest concern.
