Storm Doris damages roof of Foodbank Church – Gorleston Baptist

In Gorleston, the roof of the Baptist church on Lowestoft Road where the Gorleston Foodbank operates from was badly damaged, and one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The Foodbank will be open again Monday. Apologies it had to close today and over the weekend due to risk to life and clearance of debris. Sunday at St Andrews Church Gorleston there will be food parcels for anyone who has been left without anything today. This church has a car park and will be manned by it’s open church team with hot drinks and cake. If you are worried about your voucher don’t be if you are known to us we will still be able to help you. The Well won’t be operating in the next couple of weeks at least as work to make a safe covering continues. Paul who was hurt during the incident is home recovering from a head injury.

The Foodbank would welcome more donations as there has been such a run on it’s use over the period from Christmas this due to the increase of Universal Credit problems.
