Great Yarmouth Foodbank plus has been very busy

We will soon be reporting our busiest time with more emergency food parcels being given out than ever before including more parcels going to children. Due to the Covid virus the additional support and advice have unfortunately sometimes been put on hold as some agencies have had to stop working. Also our contact with the public has had to be reduced to a few moments through a window or a doorstep delivery. We hope the normal practices will be restored soon. Although it’s a been a bleak picture, we have been pleased with the response from the community and the council as a whole. The local stores Morrison’s, Tesco, Lidl’s, Farmfood’s, Asda, and Sainsbury’s have all been amazing. As well as food, we have been supporting households with essential toiletries such as toilet roll, shower gel, nappies, and sanitary products and thank donors for giving these items as well as food. We have also been able to give out pet food, and this has been gratefully received by those with animals at home and we’re glad to be able to support ‘all’ household members with food at this time! Thank you all so much.
