Foodbank Crisis parcel – A weekly parcel, to help towards the week’s shopping crisis includes snacks, tins, plus toiletries if requested and if available. A referral voucher is issued by a supporting agency or when a service user presents at the Foodbank drop-in. Crisis parcels can be issued for up to three weeks before they are reviewed.
During this unprecedented time, there may well be a shortage of some of the items.
A food parcel contains items from the following list, depending on availability. It will not be a full week’s groceries. The family parcel aims to help a family with 2 adults and 2 children.
- Tea and/or coffee
- Baked beans
- Tinned Tomatoes
- Tinned Vegetables
- Potato product or instant mash
- Meat products
- Fish product
- Dried pasta or rice
- Pasta Sauce or Cook-in-Sauce
- Noodles or Cuppa Soups
- Sandwich filling
- Tinned fruit
Fresh Bread, fruit, and vegetables are often available.
If need be, clients may ask for additional items, e.g. toiletries, toilet paper, baby products, nappies, pet food… but again, these are subject to availability.
