December is going to be a very busy month

Looks like December will be our busiest month with already a rise on last year. We are so grateful to our supporters for their donations in December especially Hillside school, Ormiston Venture Academy, PERENCO, Royal Mail, Johnson control, Julie Greer and friends Norwich, and JPH. Plus there are always a number of private donations from a number of very private individuals and families. Thank you all for your generosity. The colder weather heaps pressure onto people already in crisis during the winter, increasingly families unable to cover the basic costs of living such as heating bills, food and other essentials. The inability of benefit levels to cover essential living costs and issues with payments remain the most common reasons for referral to us at the foodbank. The minimum five-week wait for a first Universal Credit payment, experienced by those moving onto the new benefits system, has only made matters worse. There are ways to get advanced payments so make sure you ask for help from your Job Centre plus coach.
